Come out and experience the fall colors
Come out and experience the fall colors and enjoy the Missouri outdoors on Sunday, October 20, 2002. The Fall Driving Tour will be taking place from 12 noon to 4 p.m.
Travel almost seven miles of scenic interior access roads open to vehicles, only for this driving tour. Stops on the tour will highlight conservation management of wildlife, grasses, crops, forest, prairie, savanna, streams plus area history. Come visit the area called Poosey.
Attention: Hunters and trail riders–the Pike area and rocked roads will be closed on Friday prior to the tour on Sunday.
Please join us for a day in the Poosey woodlands and have an enjoyable visit at Poosey and in the Missouri Outdoors. Note: High clearance vehicles are recommended for the drive.
Directions to the Poosey Conservation Area Fall Driving Tour:
The entrance will be on the east side of the Poosey Conservation Area (the Pike Lake area). From Chillicothe, travel west on Highway 190 to Highway A. Travel north on Highway A to Highway W (at the water tower). Continue north Highway W to Township Road 502 and turn left. Follow the signs as you go west on Road 502. At the “T” intersection go south on Road 519 to Pike Lake, continue to follow the signs.
From the north (Highway 6), turn south on Highway W to Township Road 502 and follow the directions and signs as mentioned above.
