Aubrey Roach, 7, took time out of her summer vacation to swim on the Cameron Swim Team. She reported to the Cameron pool every day for over a month and practiced for an hour and a half on her free-style, back, breast and butterfly strokes.
The team competed in duels against area communities as part of the North Suburban Conference. Aubrey competed against other swimmers in her age division in individual events, as well as four person relays. The swimmer’s time was recorded and ribbons were awarded for the top finishers. Aubrey received seven first place, six second place, and two third place ribbons.
The season concluded with a conference meet at the St. Joseph YMCA. Aubrey is pictured displaying her conference medals, one gold and two silver, and her fifth place ribbon.
