Graveside services for Lavina Hobbs will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday in the Resthaven Memorial Gardens of Trenton. General visitation will begin today (Wednesday) after 8 a.m. at Resthaven Mortuary of Trenton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association. These may be left at the mortuary.
Lavina Hobbs, 80, a resident of the Eastview Manor Care Center in Trenton, died Tuesday, Aug. 13.
Mrs. Hobbs was born on Sept. 6, 1921 at Monona County, IA. She was raised in Iowa.
She was married to H.R. ‘Tommy’ Hobbs on Dec. 4, 1967 in Clarinda, IA. They then moved to the Hickory area, where they farmed until retiring and moving to Trenton.
Mrs. Hobbs worked for the Long-Blum Retirement Center in Chillicothe.
Mrs. Hobbs was preceded in death by her parents and one step-daughter, Carol Jane Dusenberry.
Survivors include her husband, H.R. ‘Tommy’ Hobbs of Eastview Manor Care Center; one son, Bill Conway of San Diego, Calif.; three step-sons, Bill Hobbs of Trenton, Raymond Hobbs of Fort Worth, Texas, and Charles Hobbs of Sanford, Fla.; one step-daughter, Mary Boone of Hesperia, Mich.; two brothers, Ivan Carnes and Earl Carnes, both of San Diego, Calif.; 10 step- grandchildren; and 15 step-great-grandchildren.
