Kathy Robertson, family and consumer sciences teacher at Gallatin R-5, was among approximately 3,000 vocational instructors from throughout Missouri who participated in the 33rdannual Missouri ACTE/MoEFACS State Inservice Conference sponsored by the Missouri Association for Careers and Technical Education (Missouri ACTE) and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education. The conference, held July 22-25 in Springfield, focused on curriculum, technology and other important topics for vocational education programs. Participants had the opportunity to share ideas, review teaching materials and update their knowledge in specialized subject areas.
The Missouri Educators of Family and Consumer Sciences (MoEFACS), a division of Missouri ACTE, offered a variety of presentations centered around the theme, “Celebrate the Past and Plan for the Future.”
National Vice President Jamie Lunsford and Missouri State Vice President Kamille Burrell accompanied Mrs. Robertson to the ACTE Inservice Conference. The sate executive council began making plans for the 2003 State Leadership Conference. Theme ideas, goals and objectives for the conference, general session plans, speakers and workshop ideas were part of their agenda. Jamie and Kamille were introduced as members of the State Executive Council at the awards luncheon for FACS teachers and FCCLA advisors.
