The Winston R-6 Board of Education voted to increase the cost of breakfast from 85 cents to $1 for elementary, high school and adults, during their regular July meeting. Elementary lunch prices went from $1.50 to $1.75; from $1.75 to $2 for the high school; and from $2 to $2.25 for adults.

The activity fee increased from two to three dollars for adults; and from one to two dollars for students. The school will offer a season pass for softball, basketball and junior high basketball which will be at the old rate of two dollars for adults and one dollar for students. Season passes can be bought for individual sports.

Harold Jones was hired as bus driver and Linda Warford as policy coordinator.

The board accepted the following bids for the 2002-03 school year: MFA propane at Maysville; diesel and gasoline from Winston Pit Stop; and Anderson Erickson for milk products.

The board adopted the state’s recommendation for eligibility for free and reduced price for lunches.

The board approved coordinator reports for 2001-02; approved bus routes for 2002-03 school year; reviewed the year end balances for 2001-2002 school year; reviewed 2002-03 budget and discussed setting the tax rate at the August board meeting.
