A Trenton woman was seriously injured in a two-vehicle accident four miles southwest of Gallatin at about 2 p.m. on Thursday, July 4, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.

The accident occurred as Anthony Eaton, 18, Gallatin, was northbound and Crystal Tustison, 19, Trenton, was southbound on Route CC in Daviess County. Anthony Eaton attempted a left turn into a private drive and turned into the path of Crystal Tustison at the crest of a hill. Both vehicles came to rest in the west ditch.

Crystal Tustison, and a passenger, Christopher Tustison, 22, Trenton, were both taken to Cameron Community Hospital by Daviess County Ambulance. Crystal Tustison received serious injuries and Christopher Tustison received minor injuries.

All were wearing their seat belts.

Mr. Eaton’s 1996 Ford Explorer received extensive damage. Mrs. Tustison’s 1990 Chevrolet was totaled. Both vehicles were towed by Tarpin Tow of Winston.

The accident was investigated by Sgt. J. Thompson, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff and the Gallatin Fire Department.

A summons was issued to Mr. Eaton for failure to yield.
