Rural Community Foundation released its’ 2001 Annual Report
The Rural Community Foundation released its’ 2001 Annual Report today. The report highlights the 15 projects receiving support during the past year. Funded projects ranged from a cardiac defibrilator to an after-school math club to new park construction to fairground renovations.
The various school and community betterment projects assisted by the Foundation totaled $12,630. A 50% decrease from the previous year.
“Just as businesses, governments and families tighten their belts in a recession, so must non- profit organizations. The paradox is that the services of non-profits, especially unique organizations such as the Rural Community Foundation, are in more demand when times are tough,” commented Scott Long, RCF development director. “As the financial support of the Foundation continues to grow, so in turn will the Foundation’s support of non-profit groups and schools.”
Foundation supported organizations locally included Covel D. Searcy Elementary, North Daviess R-3 School, and Daviess County Outreach & Extension.
The Rural Community Foundation is an independent, charitable organization whose mission is to support the rural areas of north-central Missouri, to improve the quality of life by serving as a resource for progressive and positive development of the region.
