Memorial services for Frankie Dake were held July 13, at Meierhoffer Family Funeral Service in St. Joseph.
Frankie M. Dake, 92, of St. Joseph, died Wednesday, June 19, 2002, at an Overland Park, Kan., health-care center.
Mrs. Dake was born in Altamont. She earned her bachelor of science degree from Truman State University. She had resided in St. Joseph for many years. She moved to Kansas City, in 1998.
Mrs. Dake had been employed as a teacher for 35 years with the St. Joseph School District, and in DeKalb and Daviess Counties.
She was a member of the First Baptist Church, Retired Teacher’s Association, National Education Association, M.S.T.A. and Delta Kappa Gamma sorority.
On May 26, 1934, she married James K. Dake. He survives of the home.
She was preceded in death by two sisters, Hallie Murray and Helen Duffey; and two brothers, Ross West and Gene West.
Other survivors include two daughters, Judy Jo Dake Cook and Ann Dake, both of Kansas City; and three sisters, Mae E. Jarrett, Loveland, Colo., Jewell Beranek, Kansas City, and Henrietta Ford, Macon; and one grandson.
