Brock Griffin of Jameson will compete at the National High School Rodeo Finals July 22-28, 2002, at Farmington, N.M. The top four in each event will compete at the 54th National High School Finals Rodeo. Known as the world’s largest rodeo, the NHSFR features 1,500 contestants competing for national titles, scholarships and prizes.
The NHSFR has launched the careers of some of the best professional cowboys the sport has known including greats like Ty Murray, Tuff Hedeman, Lane Frost and Cody Ohl, just to name a few. Farmington will be host to 39 states, four Canadian provinces and Australia.
Brock will be representing Missouri in cutting and steer wrestling. While at the Missouri State Finals Brock finished sixth in all-around; 10th in team roping; and 18th in calf roping, as well as receiving the MHSRA Scholarship and the Tommy White Memorial Scholarship.
Brock is the son of Bob and Marlene Griffin of Jameson. He is a graduating 2002 senior from North Daviess R-3 High School and is enrolled at NEO College at Miami, Okla. He is majoring in ag education and minoring in equine science. Brock will also be competing on the college rodeo team.
