Funeral services for Darryl G. Nichols were held Monday, June 17, 2002, at the Breckenridge Baptist Church. Arrangements were by the Pitts Funeral Home in Breckenridge. Burial was at Rose Hill Cemetery, Breckenridge.

Darryl Gene “Nick” Nichols, 73, Breckenridge, died Friday, June 14, 2002, at the VA Medical Center, Leavenworth, Kan.

Nick was born in Wyanconda, and had lived in Breckenridge most of his life.

He owned and operated Nick’s Body Shop, Breckenridge, for over 50 years.

He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict; member of the Fraternal Order of the Eagles; member and past master of the Masonic Breckenridge Lodge No. 334 AF&AM; member of the Moila Shrinners Temple Scottish Rite.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Catherine (Evans) Nichols; an infant daughter, Billie Lea Nichols; and a brother, Teddy Nichols.

Survivors include a son, Cody Nichols of Cameron; three daughters, Cathy McIntire of Breckenridge, Cindy Hott of Independence, and Candy Vanderpool of Breckenridge; 12 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; two brothers, Ronnie of Jamesport and Johnson Nichols of Chillicothe; five sisters, Shirley Gray of Breckenridge, Wanda Sykes of Dawn, Peggy Smith of Jamesport, Janet Simms of Portland, Ma., Virginia Herrema of Flower Mound, Texas; and his friend and companion, Dorothy Niehaus.
