Richard Mooney of Pattonsburg (phone 367-2384) offers this explanation of the photograph shared last week by Gary and Betty Harmison. Mr. Mooney points to the bearded man on the far left of the second row (holding his hat) as his great-great-grandfather Reuben Webb Pickett Mooney. The photo is thought to be a reunion of Civil War veterans. Lt. Commander Mooney served in the 14th Division of the Missouri Militia, Volunteer Cavalry, Company D (Union). He lived on a farm west of Coffey and north of Pattonsburg, a farm still in the Mooney family and currently owned by Eugene Mooney. Anyone else with information about this photo, found among Betty’s grandmother’s things, may call on the Harmisons at 828-4342.
