Funeral services for Wallace R. Green were held Tuesday at the Cameron Community of Christ Church, Cameron. Arrangements were by McWilliams Family Funeral Homes, Gallatin. Burial was at the Maple Grove Cemetery, Stewartsville. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or Alzheimer Foundation in care of the funeral home.
Wallace Ray Greene, Gallatin, 70, died Friday, May 24, 2002, at a health care facility in Maryville.
Mr. Greene was born in DeKalb County, north of Stewartsville. He graduated from Phoenix Union High School in Phoenix, Ariz., attended Graceland College, Lamoni, Iowa with a ABA degree. He received his BS and MS at the University of Arizona at Tucson in Agriculture Economics and Business Administration.
Mr. Greene was a veteran of the Korean War.
He worked for USDA Economic Research Service, US Environmental Protection Agency and was a Deputy Regional Representative for the Secretary of the US Department of Commerce. After 1981, he was a Farm Bureau Insurance Agent and a dairy owner.
Mr. Greene was a funeral director of Bram Funeral Homes and later the McWilliams Family Funeral Homes in Gallatin and Jamesport, and currently served as Daviess County Coroner.
He served as a missionary for RLDS Church. He was a member of Alpha Zeta Fraternity; National Funeral Directors Association; Missouri Funeral Directors Association; Rotary International; Gallatin Rotary Club, president 1995-1996; American Cancer Society; Daviess County Central Democratic Committee; Missouri Sate Association of Medical Examiners and Coroners.
He served on the Board for the Daviess County Department of Health and the North Central Mental Health Center. He was a High Priest and a member of the RLDS Church.
On June 11, 1960, Mr. Greene married Fiona Nelson, his wife of 27 years, in Guilford. She preceded him in death.
He was also preceded in death by one brother, I. “Ronald” Greene.
Survivors include two daughters, Carma Kinman, Maryville, and Michele Anzlovar, Corinth, Texas; one son, Roger Greene, Atlanta, Ga.; one brother, George Greene, Oak Grove.; one sister, Charlotte Robinson, Parkville.; and four grandchildren.
