Gallatin’s Erin Sweatman and Robert Heldenbrand and Pattonsburg’s Nena Woodward and Chase Cornett will take part in this weekend’s games
The District 26F Lions All-Star Basketball Classic moves into its second decade Saturday night as area high school grads get set to tip off in the 11th annual games, held again this year on the campus of Northwest Missouri State University in Maryville.
This year’s event features 46 recent high school grads from Northwest Missouri, including four from Daviess County schools. Gallatin’s Erin Sweatman and Robert Heldenbrand and Pattonsburg’s Nena Woodward and Chase Cornett will take part in this weekend’s games.
Proceeds from the games go toward scholarships for graduating high school seniors in the District 26F area schools. Tickets for the event are available at the door or from participating area Lions Clubs. The girls all-star game tips off at 5 p.m. followed by the boys contest.

Girls Purple Team — Heather Wiederholt, Abbie Steins and Ashley Pride of Northeast Nodaway; Angela Campbell of Savannah, Rachel Kemper of Jefferson, Jennifer Yocum of Mound City, Bridgett Berry of Grundy County, Stephanie Sinkhorn of Fairfax, Kayna Wake of Worth County, Sabrina Sample of King City and Nena Woodward of Pattonsburg. Coaches for the Purple Team are Doug Kingery and David Lanning.
Girls Gold Team — Amy Sullins of Stanberry, Casey Beavers and Katie Barnes of Trenton, Erin Lohafer of Maryville, Jodi Esely of Savannah, Kalle Hatcher of St. Joe Central, Amanda Schuetz of South Holt, Holly Bachali of St. Joe Benton, Amber Harding of Ridgeway, Bess Baldwin of North Nodaway and Erin Sweatman of Gallatin. Coaches for the Gold Team are Jenny Croy and Corbit Wilson.
