Gallatin FBLA holds annual wards night

The Gallatin FBLA Chapter held its annual awards night on Monday, May 6 in the high school library. A welcome to the guest was given by Chapter President Mackenzie Riley. Rachel Toney, chapter reporter, gave a PowerPoint presentation to summarize the chapter’s yearly activities. Mackenzie Riley and advisor Barb Holcomb presented the chapter awards to members who attended district and state contests. Outstanding members from each class were also recognized: overall-Mackenzie Riley; senior-Erin Sweatman; junior- Laura McCann; sophomore-Whitney Wright, and freshman-Stefanie Dowell. Barb Holcomb also presented Mackenzie Riley with the FBLA scholarship of $500. Julie Tummons, owner and operator of The Oasis, was recognized by the chapter as Outstanding Business Leader of the year. During the program the 2002-2003 officers were installed: president-Roxi Davitt; vice-president-Brook Carder; secretary-Keira Story; treasurer-Laura McCann; and reporter-Whitney Wright. Mrs. Holcomb recognized the senior members that were present and presented them with a farewell gift from the chapter. Retiring chapter president, Mackenzie Riley, gave her farewell address and then turned the meeting over to Roxi Davitt, the 2002-2003 chapter president. All members and guests were invited to stay for refreshments.
