The annual meeting for the Green Hills Regional Planning Commission was held on Thursday, May 9, at the commission’s offices at Trenton. Highlights of the meeting included a presentation by Lynn Anderson, vice president of the Dakota, Minnesota and Eastern Railway Company concerning his company’s proposal to acquire the assets of the I&M Rail Link through north central Missouri.

In addition, the commission presented awards to retiring County Clerks L.D. Gibson of Grundy County and Barbara J. Gates of Harrison County under the “Bill Hoyt Local Government Service Award.” Finally, the commission elected officers including a new chairperson and re-elected its treasurer.

Elected Chairman of the Green Hills Regional Planning Commission was Presiding Commissioner David Tolen of Daviess County. Commissioner Tolen will replace Eva Danner of Livingston County who has served the past four years. The commission re-elected Jason Helton, citizen member of Daviess County as RPC treasurer.

The next meeting of the Regional Planning Commission Board of Directors will be in June.
