Jim Sears Jr., a former graduate of Gallatin High School, is currently stationed at Eileson AFB, Fairbanks, Alaska, as an F-16 fighter pilot. His most recent assignment was flying the Southern No-Fly Zone over Iraq from Kuwait.

Sears was recently promoted to major. His next assignment will be to spend one year at Kunsan ABS, Korea. He and his wife, Vikki, have two daughters, Maddi, 7, and Jillian, 3.

Major Sears is the son of Jim Sears and the late Liz Sears. The Sears once owned and operated a drug store, The Pill Box Pharmacy, on the east side of the Gallatin business square. Mr. Sears retired in 1998 and splits time between residences at O’Fallon, MO, and Phoenix, AZ, with his wife, Gina. Mr. Sears’ daughter, Barbara, is finishing nurses training at Kirksville.
