In addition to the charges filed last week, an additional charge of tampering 1st degree, Class C felony, was filed against William Kennedy of Jamesport, 22, in connection with the car chase which occurred on April 28. Kennedy is being held at Ray County Security Housing on $35,000 bond.
A 20-year-old Kansas City man was charged with driving while suspended, Class A misdemeanor, on May 3. He posted $350 bond.
On April 27, Chief Deputy Ben Becerra was dispatched to 290th and Beacon Avenue near Coffey where arson and property damage had occurred. Volunteer fire fighters had responded to a fire call at that address and noticed that several windows in the residence were broken. The fire fighters put out a fire in a small shed southwest of the house. Eighteen windows in the house were broken, as well as the bathroom mirror. Suspect(s) entered the house via the front door, by breaking the window. The owner of the house, Charles Burrell of Kingston, was notified of the incident.
