Employees at the Gallatin Post Office and the Mid-American District were recently awarded a unique postal flag in recognition for outstanding customer service.

Independent customer surveys were conducted by the Gallup Organization to help the postal service gauge the overall performance of post offices across the nation.

Accuracy of delivery, consistency of delivery and professionalism in serving customers at the retail service window over a 16 week period were three key areas of performance measurement.

Gallatin postal carriers travel 350 miles a day, and deliver mail to over 1500 address points in Daviess County six days a week. Postal clerks serve the needs of the mailing community by processing over 200 individual customer requests a day at the Gallatin office.

“We are thankful for our customers who have made this award possible,” says Gallatin Post Master Carl Wiles. “I am proud that our employees are being recognized for achieving superior levels of customer satisfaction.

The new postal flag will be on display at the Gallatin Post Office lobby.
