Alpha Pi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma; Chapter B.Q. P.E.O.; Gallatin Garden Club; The Daviess County Business Women’s Association
The Alpha Pi Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma met at the South Harrison Elementary School, Bethany, MO on April 13th with fourteen members and two visitors present. Ann Graner, a third grade teacher at South Harrison Elementary, gave a program on E-Mints. They received a grant to implement this program in the third grade classrooms for the 2001-02 school year. Mrs. Graner gave a most interesting program to the group. President Betty Weigand of Cameron, was in charge of the meeting with Joyce Smith, Blythedale as song leader. Roll call was answered with “My Experience With Educational Technology” and Judy Hinkle, Bethany was the Program Coordinator. Barbara Mahoney, Albany was in charge of the Installation of Officers. Those newly installed officers were: Julie Lupfer, McFall, President; Judy Hinkle, Bethany, First Vice President; Carol Wiedmier, Braymer, Second Vice President; Jeanie Harris, Cameron, Recording Secretary; Jackie Taylor, Braymer, Treasurer; Joyce Smith, Blythedale, Corresponding Secretary; Betty Weigand, Cameron, Parliamentarian.Lucretia Hawley and Julie Lupfer won the baskets of goodies for our money making project.Julie Lupfer and Joyce Smith will be attending the State Delta Kappa Gamma Convention at Maryland Heights on April 27-28. Eagleville ladies were the hostesses. The next meeting will be September 14th at Cameron.

Chapter B.Q. P.E.O. met April 15 at the home of Shirley Weldon. Twelve members were present. The International Peace Scholarship program was given by Sandy Ward. The program for continuing education was given by Norma Johnson. The next meeting is at 7 p.m. on May 6 at Shirley Walker’s.
The Daviess County Business Women’s Association met April 9 at the Daviess County Health Office for a guided tour of the new facility by Jackie Nichols. After the program the ladies gathered at Joni’s for dinner followed by business meeting. Hostesses were Lola Critten and Candy Hughes. Mary Virginia Croy reported on the April birthday party that we sponsored at the Daviess County Care Center. There were six who received happy birthday balloons and shared ice cream and cake with the facility’s residents. Candy Hughes provided the balloons and Mary Virginia Cory, Patty Heldenbrand, Janie McKinsey and Darlene Patton provided the cakes. Patty Heldenbrand, chairman of the Scholarship Committee, reported that she had received seven applications and requested that committee members remain after the meeting to select the 2002 recipient. Birthday raffles were won by Sue Downey, Pam Howard and Sharon Whitt.
The Gallatin Garden Club met at Breadeaux with Hazele Tomlinson as hostess. There were 10 members and four guests present. The committee for the “Yard of the Month” will be picked at the May meeting. Our program was Peter and Debbie Allen, puppeteers, from Jamesport. They will be giving a program at the county library on June 5. Next meeting is May 21. Delma will be hostess.
