Daviess County disaster victims who have not yet applied for disaster assistance have only a few more days to do so.

April 22 is the last day that renters, homeowners or business owners who suffered damages due to the ice storm and live or do business in one of the 43 declared counties may apply for assistance.

Those who have not yet registered for assistance are urged to do so by calling the FEMA toll-free number at 1-800-621-FEMA (3362). Those with speech or hearing impairments should call TTY 1-800-462-7585. The lines are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday.

Those who have registered prior to this deadline may call the same toll-free number to check on the status of their registration even after the April 22 deadline.
