Gallatin R-5 pre-school students spent Friday observing an early St. Patrick’s Day. The children learned about the Irish traditions of leprechauns, pot of gold, and wearing of the green. Their Partners in Education, J&J Seed, provided green shamrock cookies and read a story of the leprechaun, who provided not only a pot of gold, but love and friendship. The children then had a maze activity to help the leprechaun find his way back to the missing shamrock. The children also made leprechaun hat visors to wear in the celebration. The Gallatin R-5 preschool teacher is Tara Burns.
