When was the last time you did something that made you feel truly good about yourself?

Catch that good feeling again by donating blood at the Jamesport blood drive on Wednesday, April 3, from 3-7 p.m. at Jamesport Elementary School. To sign up or get more information, please call Betty Price at 660-684-6502.

Besides getting that warm fuzzy feeling inside, you will receive a mini-health check from the Community Blood Center nurses. After answering some medical history questions, you will have your temperature, blood pressure, and hemoglobin checked. It’s a quick and easy way of monitoring your health. As a thank you to all donors, cholesterol testing will be done and the results will be mailed within four to six weeks.

Blood donors must provide identification. All donors must be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and be in good health.

Community Blood Center prepares more than 184,000 blood components each year, which are available to area patients 24 hours a day. The Center also provides medical consultation services, inpatient and outpatient services, specialized blood services, and a wide array of educational programs.
