Project Prom
For the past 12 years the Pattonsburg R-2 School District has been involved in the Drug-Free Schools and Community Act in an ongoing effort to reduce alcohol and drug use in the community. This year the Junior-Senior Prom is being held at the gym in the Pattonsburg High School on Saturday, April 20.
Prom is still in the planning stages, but the school is hoping to again rent the bowling alley and/or have organized activities. The event is a type of look-in to assure the safety of the students with supervision for a night of fun.
The school is asking the community and patrons to either make a gift or cash donation to support the event. If you are interested in helping with Project Prom, please contact Phyllis Mason at 367-4301 or Kathy Burns at 367-2465. If you would like to mail your cash donation, it may be sent to Project Prom, c/oAlison Sperry, 17165 Elmwood Avenue, Pattonsburg, 64670.

Schedule changes
There have been a few schedule changes made to the R-2 school calendar due to snow days. School will be in session on March 15 (with early dismissal at 1 p.m.), March 28 and April 2. If there are to be any more school days canceled due to snow, they will be added to the end of the school year.
