Kristen Ellis, a 1999 GHS graduate and daughter of Stan Ellis and Phyllis Dible, was selected to sing the Star Spangled Banner prior to tipoff in the Hearnes Center as the MU Tigers played Jackson State on Nov. 29. Kristen auditioned early in the fall and was chosen to sing in front of a sold-out crowd of nearly 14,000 people. She was positioned at the half-court line after team introductions as part of the “One Nation United” pregame program. Because of her performance, Kristen has also been asked to sing at a softball game and a baseball game at MU later this spring.
