This year, for the first time, the “Top Ten” list recognizes schools for sustained performance on the Missouri Assessment Program (MAP). Achievement level results were averaged for the years since the MAP assessment became mandatory for all districts — 1998 for math, 1999 for communication arts and science, and 2000 for social studies. Past Top Ten lists were based on results from the current test year only.
