Youth Wrestling Club has outstanding season

The Gallatin Youth Wrestling Club has had an outstanding season, which started in early December, and will be topped off with the Missouri State Wrestling Championships March 23-24 at the Hearnes Center in Columbia.

The club has participated in several tournaments, traveling to Chillicothe, Higginsville, Kirksville, Maysville, Trenton, Polo and Belton. Wrestlers practice every Tuesday and Thursday

at Searcy Elementary.

Team coaches are Larry Rhoades, Charlie and Teresa Eaton, Todd Grooms, Eric Corwin, Bill Wright, Kurt and Tina Esbeck, John Wood Jr., Kyle McBroom, Tim Michener, and Bruce Goll.

The goals of the Youth Wrestling Club are to promote sportsmanship and to teach the fundamentals of wrestling that will carry team members into their high school years.

There will be a drawing for $100 at 6 p.m. on Feb. 28 at the elementary school gym. Raffle tickets may be purchased from any club member. The club appreciates the support it has received

from parents and the community. Without this support, the Gallatin Youth Wrestling Club would not be possible.
