During the 2001 calendar year defendants sentenced by Judge Daren L. Adkins in the Associate Division of the Daviess County Circuit Court completed 785 hours of community service.
Defendants typically ordered to community service committed non-violent offenses such as minor in possession of alcohol, trespassing, and littering, and have been sentenced to community service in lieu of a fine. Community service workers are required to wear the blaze orange and yellow vests, work clothes, and be on-time to receive credit.
During this first year, defendants worked at the Daviess County Courthouse, Daviess County Library, Green Hills Community Action Agency, Gallatin Senior Center, Daviess County Health Office, and the Gallatin R-5 School District with much success.
For the 2002 calendar year community service workers will be assigned throughout the county. Any governmental agency, school district, or fire protection district needing help is encouraged to contact the Associate Division at 660-663-2532 to request community service workers.
Anyone with any comments, suggestions or complaints regarding community service or anything related to the functions of the Associate Division is invited to contact Judge Adkins at the number above as we work for you.
