Memorial service for Ruth Slatten, a former resident of Gallatin, will be held at a later date. The body has been cremated.
Arrangements are by Bram Funeral Home, Hamilton.
Ruth Slatten, 94, Hamilton, died Monday, Feb. 11, 2002, at a health-care center in Hamilton.
Mrs. Slatten was born in Cowgill.
Mrs. Slatten attended Texas Wesleyan College in Fort Worth, Texas, and Warrensburg State Teacher’s College.
She taught school in Kansas and later worked in the Farm Home Administration office in Gallatin.
She married Harold Coffman in 1926. He died in 1928. In 1944, she married Joseph Slatten. They lived in Jamesport; Lake Viking and Gallatin before moving to Sun City, Ariz., in 1985.
In Jamesport, Mrs. Slatten was active in Missouri Federation of Women’s Clubs and the Methodist Church. She gave piano lessons and frequently played at church. In Sun City, she was a member of the Sun City Christian Church.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Slatten; and son, Richard Coffman.
Survivors include one sister, Reva Best, Houston, Texas; one grandchild; and three great- grandchildren.
