Funeral services for Nellie Ray, sister of Minnie Huffman of Gallatin, were held Friday at the Gilman City First Baptist Church. Burial was in the Gilman City Masonic Cemetery. Arrangements were by Resthaven Mortuary at Trenton. Memorial contributions may be made to the Gilman City Masonic Cemetery.
Nellie L. Ray, 91, formerly of Gilman City, died Feb. 12, 2002, at the Lincoln Manor Care Center in Chillicothe, where she had resided since 1997.
Mrs. Ray, a homemaker, was born in Harrison County.
She married Clyde J. Turley on July 18, 1927. He died on July 15, 1958. She was then married to Harold E. Ray on June 21, 1968. He died on Jan. 22, 1989.
Mrs. Ray was a member of the Gilman City Baptist Church.
She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Marjorie Osborn; a granddaughter, Deborah Osborn; two brothers, Charley and Wayne Hobbs; and one sister, Mildred Gibson.
Mrs. Ray is survived by one son, Jim Turley of Trenton; two daughters, Sue Benson of Carrollton, and Grace Parman of Cameron; three stepchildren, Sharon Gibson of Gilman City, Allen Dean Ray of Cameron, and Donna Jean Johnson of Bethany; one other sister, Naomie Stretch of Chillicothe; one brother, Tommy Hobbs of Trenton; 11 grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren; and several step grandchildren.
