Members from the Gallatin FCCLA Chapter receiving positions on the Region 2 Executive Council were Regional President Katie Ward; State Vice-President Kamille Burrell; and National Officer Candidate Jamie Lunsford.
On Feb. 4, members from the Missouri FCCLA Region 2 met at Gallatin High School to elect the Executive Council for the 2002-2003 school year. Each local chapter was allowed to bring three candidates to run for a national, state or regional office. Each candidate prepared a two to three minute speech on topics such as “Connect to Your Character with FCCLA,” “Tune in to FCCLA” and “Build a Better World with FCCLA.”
The candidates also took an FCCLA Knowledge Test and went through a “Meet the Candidate” session. The voting delegates, from local chapters, asked questions that varied from FCCLA facts to questions requiring the candidates to express his or her opinion on current issues.
The 2002-2003 Executive Council will be installed March 20 at the Elks Lodge in Chillicothe.
