Gallatin Clubs

The Listen and Learn Club met Jan. 24 at the library with Jewell Holt as hostess. The officers for the coming year were elected Mary Virginia Croy, president; Norma Johnson, vice-president; Jewell Holt, secretary and treasurer. The programs for the coming year were planned. Eddie Binney organized the club 50 years ago. Velma Miller and Norma Johnson are charter members. We have seven members. Every year we send a donation to Children’s Mercy Hospital and have helped with several community projects. Since 1993, we have helped with the Buddy Reading Program at Searcy Elementary, working with the fourth and sixth grades. Our next meeting is Feb. 28 at the home of Dorothy Dale.
