Funeral services for Erma Rains will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday at McWilliams Family Funeral Home in Gallatin. Burial will be at Hillcrest Cemetery, Gallatin. Visitation is from 6 to 7:30 p.m.

today (Wednesday) at the funeral home, where friends may call after noon. Memorials may be made to the First Christian Church Building Fund in care of the funeral home, 1329 West Grand Ave., Gallatin, 64640.

Erma Ladean (Taylor) Rains, 76, Gallatin, died Sunday, Dec. 23, 2001, at a Kansas City hospital.

Mrs. Rains graduated from Barnett High School. She later attended Sedalia (Kan.) School of Business.

Mrs. Rains was a member of the First Christian Church, Gallatin; Crusader Sunday School class; Eastern Star; and the Learn and Do Extension Club, Gallatin.

On Nov. 1, 1947, she married Don Rains in Barnett. He survives of the home.

Mrs. Rains was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Thomas Taylor.

Other survivors include two sons, Steve and David Rains, Gallatin; two daughters, Vicki Rains, St. Joseph, and Judy Stith, Gallatin; a brother, Myron Taylor, Jefferson City; five sisters, Arlene

Jones, Sue Enloe, Eldon, Darlene Stover, Independence, Evelyn Bellamy, Raytown and Elizabeth Edwards, Clinton; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
