Daniel Lynn, bridge supervisor, and James Lewis, foreman, met with the commission reporting on tube replacements.
Sheriff Kevin Heldenbrand and Deputy Ben Becerra met with the commission reporting a complaint being filed concerning roads in Jefferson and Washington Townships.
Don Burns, Marion Township, met with the commission questioning the status of brush removal procedures in that township. The brush in question is to be dozed in the spring.
Phil Kimberling, Jackson Township, met with the commission with questions regarding CART road 113. The road was added to the CART program in 2001 at .8 mile.
The commission audited and paid bills and reviewed the November treasurer’s report.
Lawrence Heyer, Jefferson Township, met with the commission regarding tube replacements in that township.
Mike Cottrell, Washington Township board member, met with the commission regarding various roads in that township and coordinating work between the county and the township. He also had questions on the status of a road on the section line of 32 and 33. The commission will check with adjoining landowners before a declaration of abandonment is made.
The commission discussed the new statute allowing the separation of the offices of Circuit Clerk and Recorder of Deeds. Information from meetings of the Northwest Commissioners Association meetings was reviewed. David Holcomb moved that the offices be separated. David Tolen seconded. Votes were: David Holcomb – yes; Danny Heldenbrand – no; David Tolen – yes.
The commission reviewed the 2002 state holiday list opting to stay with the personnel policy which includes the day after Thanksgiving and the afternoon of December 24.
The commission added $10,640 in delinquent personal valuations to the tax list.
