Daniel Lynn, bridge supervisor, and James Lewis, foreman, met with the commission reporting routine matters.

Eugene Kime, Jackson Township trustee, met with the commission regarding his request for an equipment grant. The request was approved.

The 2002 agreement with Children’s Mercy Hospital was executed.

At 10 a.m., the pre-construction hearing was held for project BRO-031(20), bridge 12100181. Those in attendance were representatives from the engineering firm, MoDOT, the utility companies, and landowners. The contract specifies 40 working days. Plans are to move the utility lines this week, weather permitting. The contracts were executed.

Due to non-payment to sub-contractors by the contractor, the bridge project on the Marion- Jefferson township line cannot be completed. The construction work has been completed and the bridge is open, but the final 5% of the BRO funding has been retained by MoDOT. The bonding company has been notified.

Bills were audited and paid.

The commission inspected the property at 206 North Daviess Street, finding it unlocked and the key inside. The house had deteriorated and after consulting the realtors involved, the selling price was decreased.

The grant application for Local Emergency Planning was awarded for 2002 and $2,501.84 received.

These are the approved minutes of Dec. 3, 2001. All members were present.
