The Business & Education Network, a designated fund of the Rural Community Foundation, has awarded Covel D. Searcy Elementary in Gallatin a $200 mini-grant to enhance their Partners In Education (P.I.E.) program. The program allows students to learn about businesses in their hometown and to be exposed to possible career choices that will enhance career development. “It is always exciting to share new ideas and concepts with our students. We appreciate the opportunity that the Rural Community Foundation has given us,” noted P.I.E. coordinator Debbie Sweatman. Local businesses participating in the project include J&J Seeds and Nelson-Mini Storage, State Farm Insurance, Investors National Bank, Lynch’s Super Market, City of Gallatin/Jason Helton, Farmers Bank of Northern Missouri, Eugene Story-DVM, Landmark, Terry Implement Co., and the Gallatin Police Department.
These grants are made possible through the generosity of Foundation supporters. The annual fund drive for the Rural Community Foundation continues. Tax-deductible contributions can be sent to RFC, P.O. Box 462, Trenton, Missouri 64683.
