Marjorie Eleanor (Bruner) Martindale Jackson, 89, New Hampton, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at her home.
Funeral services for Marjorie Jackson were held Monday at the Roberson Funeral Home in Bethany. Burial was at Foster Cemetery, New Hampton. Memorials may be made to the Department of Music and sent to Union College, 3800 S. 48th St., Lincoln, NE 68506.
Marjorie Eleanor (Bruner) Martindale Jackson, 89, New Hampton, died Monday, Nov. 19, 2001, at her home.
Mrs. Jackson was born in Gilman City. She graduated from Broadwater (Neb.) High School where she was valedictorian of her class. Mrs. Jackson attended the Conservatory of Music at Hastings (Neb.) College and received a bachelor’s degree from Union College in Lincoln, Neb.
Mrs. Jackson was a school teacher for 35 years in public and parochial schools in Nebraska and Missouri.
She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and honorary member of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She also was a member of the Gallatin Seventh Day Adventist Church where she was pianist and organist for 35 years. She also was pianist at the Albany Methodist Church for 18 years.
On May 13, 1933, she married Paul Martindale in Broadwater. He preceded her in death.
On March 26, 1990, she married Merrill Jackson in New Hampton. He survives of the home.
Mrs. Jackson also was preceded in death by a brother, Haver Bruner; and a sister, Fannie McMillan.
Other survivors include a son, Paul G. Martindale, Lincoln, Neb.; three daughters, Shirley J. Johnson and Mina Ree Dishman, both of Kansas City, and Marilyn K. Strawbridge, Oviedo, Fla.; two brothers, Rev. Minor Bruner, Logan Utah, and Ralph Bruner, Aurora, Colo.; a sister, Charlene Denboe, Broadwater; seven grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
