Graveside service and burial for Robert Savage were held Friday at Civil Bend Christian Cemetery in Pattonsburg, with military rites by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 2176 and American Legion Post No. 216, both of Bethany; and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5329 and American Legion Post No. 106, both of Albany. Arrangements were by the Roberson Funeral Home, Pattonsburg. Memorials may be made to the Comfort Care Hospice in care of the funeral home, P.O. Box 46, Bethany, 64424.
Robert Gordon “Bob” Savage, 79, Winston, died Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2001.
Born in Daviess County, Mr. Savage had been employed as a heavy equipment operator. He was a member of Union Local No. 101.
On Nov. 13, 1946, he married Grace Canfield. She died in 1973. Then on Dec. 24, 1975, he married Mary McClung. She survives of the home.
Mr. Savage also was preceded in death by two sisters, Ruby and Georgie.
Other survivors include a daughter, Peggy Fredricks, Pattonsburg; two sisters, Lois Prosser, Rock Island, Ill., and Nora Bacon, Wichita, Kan.; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
