Memorial services for Richard Gutzmer, brother of Tim of Gallatin, were held at 10 a.m. today (Wednesday) at the Spirit of Christ Church in Arvada, Colo. Memorials may be made to medical research for juvenile diabetes.
Richard Alan “Rick” Gutzmer, 44, Arvada, Colo., formerly of Maryville, died Friday, Oct. 19, 2001, in Arvada.
Mr. Gutzmer was employed by a pharmaceutical company in Denver, Colo.
Born in Fargo, N.D., he was reared and a graduate of a high school in Maryville. He earned a bachelor of science degree in chemistry from Northwest Missouri State University at Maryville. He moved to Colorado in 1980.
Mr. Gutzmer was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Maryville.
In 1981, he married Paula Irick in Denver. She survives of the home.
Mr. Gutzmer was preceded in death by his father, Marvin; and grandparents, Robert and Lucille Gutzmer, and Gust and Matilda Martin.
Other survivors include three sons, Michael, Matthew and Ryan, all of the home; his mother and stepfather, Donna and Robert Everhart, St. Joseph; and one other brother, Mark, St. Joseph.
