David Tolen reported that at the meeting with the Daviess County Health Board, the lease agreement was discussed, accepted, and executed by that board. Also, that the health department board voted to pay one-third of the cost of repainting the exterior of the Lambert Building.

Bills were audited and paid.

John Gorman, commercial painting contractor, met with the commission proposing improvements to the building at 601 South Main. He will power wash and paint the exterior with two coats of paint. The doorways will be painted white. Mr. Gorman will complete the project for $4,475 and has provided a certificate of insurance. Danny Heldenbrand moved to accept the proposal. David Holcomb seconded. Carried. The county will pay the entire amount, billing the health department for their portion.

The commission reviewed letters sent to landowners regarding the removal of brush. Four landowners have not responded in over 30 days and further action will be taken by the commission. No contractor answered the recent advertisement. The commission will contact individuals for estimates, who have shown interest previously in removing brush.

At 1:30 p.m., as advertised, sealed bids for bridge 1210018, Bro project (20) were opened. Boone Construction was the apparent low bidder at $198,719.80. Shannon Howe, Shafer, Kline and Warren, took the bids documents for examination, planning to evaluate and make a recommendation next week.

At 2:30 p.m., the meeting was closed to meet with Ivan Schraeder, attorney, representing the county in current litigation with Teresa Eaton and Ron Hood. No decisions were made.

Personal tax valuations in the amount of $18,540 were added to the delinquent tax book.
