The following cases were heard by Judge Warren McElwain on Law Day, held Oct. 10:
Trisha Annette Bailey was granted a dissolution of marriage from Timmy Matthew Bailey.
Troy Brown was granted a dissolution of marriage from Angela Brown.
Cynthia Oliver was granted a dissolution of marriage from Michael Allen Oliver, with her maiden name of Shipers restored.
In the State of Missouri vs. Gary L. Cox, the defendant received a suspended imposition of sentence and was placed on probation for 2 years on a plea agreement for passing bad checks, Class A misdemeanor.
In State vs. Douglas P. Sybert, the defendant plead guilty to driving while license revoked, a Class D felony, and was sentenced to three years in the department of corrections.
Arturo P. Magana Jr., plead guilty to Count 1 – possession of a controlled substance, and Count 3 – no valid license, on a plea agreement. A pre-sentence investigation was ordered.
In State vs. Nicholas McCleary, the defendant was sentenced to five years on count 1 – burglary 2nd degree, Class C felony, and five years on count 2 – stealing, Class C felony, sentences to be served consecutively, with 120 day callback and intensive institutional treatment. On count 3 – property damage, 1st degree, McCleary was sentenced to 30 days in the county jail.
Shane Mathews failed to appear on a probation violation, and a warrant was issued for his arrest.
In State of Missouri vs. Rob Fredricks, the defendant was ordered to serve five years in the department of corrections for probation violation, with 120-day callback, on an original charge of receiving stolen property, Class C felony.
In State vs. Michelle J. Smith, the suspended imposition of sentence was revoked and Smith was sentenced to five years in the department of corrections. She received a suspended execution of sentence, was placed on probation, and ordered to serve 15 days shock time.
Robert Hall admitted probation violations on an original conviction for endangering the welfare of a child, Class D felony. He was sentenced to five years in the department of corrections.
In State vs. Dacy Ray Watkins, the defendant admitted probation violations for non-support, a Class D felony, and was sentenced to five years in the department of corrections, execution of sentence suspended, and placed on five years probation.
Michael Brent Williams admitted probation violations on a conviction of non-support, Class D felony, and was ordered to serve five years in the department of corrections.
On Oct. 12, Judge R. Brent Elliott sentenced Kerry L. McBroom to three years in the department of corrections on a plea agreement for driving while intoxicated, a Class D felony, with the sentence to begin Oct. 26.
