Funeral services for Martha Derby, a former resident of Altamont, were held Monday at Poland Thompson Funeral Home in Cameron. Burial was at Mount Ayr Cemetery in Altamont.
Martha E. (McLaughlin) Derby, 72, Cameron, died Thursday, Sept. 27, 2001, in Liberty.
Mrs. Derby, a homemaker, was born in Cherokee, Kan.
She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Cameron.
On Feb. 13, 1955, she married John Derby. He died in 1974.
Mrs. Derby also was preceded in death by three sisters, Grace Richardson, Lucille Stevens and Helen Baldridge; and two brothers, James and Roy McLaughlin.
Survivors include two sons, Tim, Kidder, and Joe, Ames, Iowa; a daughter, Glennie Peery, Kidder; a sister, Hazel Howard, Cameron; and four grandchildren.
