Jamesport’s “Harvest Fest” features The Great American Buggy Bounce Oct. 6
Jamesport is having their Harvest Fest celebration on Oct. 6. The celebration will consist of craft booths, home baked food and pastries, ice cream, entertainment, and old time games for the family.
This year for the first time the featured event will be the Great American Buggy Bounce at 4 p.m.. The event is sponsored by the Jamesport Area Chamber of Commerce. Three ping pong balls will be sold for $5. On each of these balls will be a number that will correlate to the name of the person who purchased them.
All numbered ping-pong balls will be put into the back of a buggy that will follow the Jamesport band as it marches from the school to the main part of town. As the buggy travels down the street the balls will be bouncing out of the back of the buggy.
The last three ping-pong balls left in the buggy will hold the numbers of the three lucky winners who will receive overnight lodging, dinners, horseback riding, guided tours, carriage rides and $100 worth of gift certificates from participating merchants to celebrate the end of the harvest.
Harvest Fest features a craft show, 16 antique shops, 27 craft and specialty shops, three bakeries, an antique tractor and car museum, 10 Amish stores, and four restaurants. There will be booths set up in the streets selling their craft items.
