Matt Fry has been selected to sing with the North Carolina Symphony at the “Mozart in Requiem” Memorial Concert at 7 p.m. on Sept. 30 at the Duke University Chapel in Durham, N.C.

The concert is to honor the victims of the Sept. 11 terrorist attack on America. Five Duke alumni are missing in the aftermath of last week’s attacks in New York and Washington.

Matt is a member of the Duke Chapel Choir which sings every Sunday at the Duke Chapel. Out of 140 in the chapel choir, Matt was among 30 selected to sing Schola Cantorum four times a semester.

Matt teaches vocal music at Jordan-Matthews High School in Siler City, N.C. He and his wife, Debbie, and their three girls, Meredith, 15, twins, Allison and Amanda, 12, live in Cary, N.C.

Debbie works at the clinical pathology lab at Duke University Medical Center. Matt graduated from Gallatin R-5 High School in 1983. He is the son of Shirley and Elbert Fry of Gallatin.
