Makayla and Kris Dutro, children of Michael and Sherrie Dutro, Coffey, competed in the Missouri Pedal Pullers Association, 2001, State Championship held Saturday, Sept. 8, at Harrisburg.
Makayla won first place in the five-year-old girl’s division. She had a full pull the first round and in the second round pulled 38 feet and ½ inches and won a medallion and trophy. Kris won first place in the 10-year-old boys division. He had full pull the first round and in the second round had a full pull and won a medallion, trophy and $50 savings Bond.
A total of 133 children from all divisions of the state competed in the finals. Makayla and Kris will now represent the State of Missouri in the National Pedal Pullers Association Championship held in Omaha, Neb., on Sept. 22. Dotson Racing in Cameron, Orschelns and Sharp’s Amoco of Bethany made contributions to help the children attend the competition. [Submitted Photo]
