NOTICE TO CONTRACTORS

Sealed proposals, addressed to “Daviess County Commission” and endorsed “Proposal” for constructing Bridge No. 12100181, Daviess County, will be received by the County Commission until 1:30 p.m. on the 9th day of October, 2001, at the office of the County Clerk, Daviess County Courthouse and at that time will be publicly opened and read.

The proposed work includes: The construction of a 110′-0″, three-span prestressed concrete double-tee girder bridge and appurtenances, over Clear Creek.

The wage rates applicable to this project have been predetermined as required by law and are set forth in the bid proposal. When Federal wage rates are applicable and included, this contract is subject to the “Work Hours Act of 1962” (P.L. 87-581; Stat. 357) and implementing regulations.

By virtue of statutory authority, preference shall be given on other than Federal Aid Projects to materials, products, supplies, provisions and other articles, produced, manufactured, made or grown within the State of Missouri, where same are of a suitable character and can be obtained at reasonable market prices in the State and are a quality suited to the purpose intended and can be secured without additional cost over foreign products or other states.

“The County of Daviess hereby notifies all bidders that it will affirmatively insure that in any contract entered into pursuant to this advertisement, disadvantaged business enterprises will be afforded full opportunity to submit bids in response to this invitation and will not be discriminated against on the grounds of race, color, or national origin in consideration for an award”.

Plans and specifications are on file at the office of the County Clerk and the Consulting Engineer, Shafer, Kline & Warren, Inc., 215 N. Rollins, P.O. Box 366, Macon, MO 63552. Complete instructions to bidders and proposal blanks may be obtained at the Engineers Office for a deposit of $50.00, this will be refunded upon returning Plans and Specifications in good condition. Note: In order to receive deposit, contract documents must be returned with all addendums and/or drawings ten (10) days from the bid date.

Proposals must be on forms provided.

The right is reserved to reject any or all bids.
