Eleanor F. Schantz-Dinehart, 83, of Phoenix, Arizona passed away on Aug. 26, 2001 after a long battle with cancer.

Eleanor was born in Gallatin on January 27, 1918 and moved to Phoenix in 1948.

She was a retired records clerk for Maryvale High School and a faithful member of North Phoenix Baptist church for nearly 20 years.

She was preceded in death by her first husband, William Tarwater, as well as her second husband, Sylvester Schantz, her son Wendell Tarwater, her two brothers Edwin and Ross Peniston.

Eleanor was survived by her husband Carl Dinehart, daughter Beverly Collins, three grandchildren, and one great grandchild.

A memorial service was held on Sept. 1, 2001 at Greenwood Memory Lawn Mortuary, 719 N. 27th Ave., Phoenix. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Hospice of the Valley in care of the mortuary.
