Cindy Burke earns 5th place in national tumbling

Cindy Burke, 18, daughter of Junior and Sharon Burke of Gallatin, recently earned a fifth place finish in the USSA (United States Sports Acro) Power Tumbling national competition, held in Dayton, Ohio, July 14-21.

Cindy placed first in a San Jose, Calif., meet held earlier this spring. She was one of about 20 competitors who traveled to California from a Kearney gym called One Liddle Step, but she was the only participant from Kearney who competed in the power tumbling event. Her instructor is Linda Porter.

Cindy earned first place at the regional competition held in Kearney on June 7 and also earned the “Tumbler of the Year” award in the central region.
