Jan Johnson attends skills institute

Jan Johnson, Director of the Daviess County Library, attended the 2001 Library Skills Summer Institute held at the Ramada Inn Conference Center in Columbia, Aug. 7-10. She was a presenter for the Small Libraries Seminar, which gave 19 librarians an opportunity to network with colleagues and discuss common small-library concerns such as programs, services, marketing, older buildings, and collections and small budgets.

The Summer Institute was sponsored by the Missouri State Library, a division of the Missouri Office of the Secretary of State. Summer Institute was paid for by grant funds from the Library Services and Technology Act. Jan is also currently serving as treasurer of the Grand River Library Conference and was the 2000 president of Missouri Public Libraries, a statewide organization of all public libraries in Missouri.
