Brice Garnett has capped his junior golf career by successfully competing in several tournaments this summer. In June, Brice participated in the U.S. Junior Amateur Qualifier held at Claycrest Golf Course in Liberty. He finished fourth and nearly missed qualifying for the Junior Amateur National Tournament in San Antonio, Texas, in July. He shot a 71-76 for the one-day, 36 hole qualifier.

Also in June, Brice played in the Little People’s Golf Tournament in Quincy, Ill. This was his fifth year to play in this tournament. The Little People’s is a nationally known tournament drawing over 800 players, ages four to 17, from all 50 states. One hundred-fifty boys were in the 16-17 year-old age group. Brice was in this age group and finished twelfth, one stroke from receiving a medal. He shot a 73-77 (150) for the two-day tournament.

On August 6 and 7, Brice finished first in the Tiger Junior Tournament held at the Columbia Country Club in Columbia. He shot rounds of 77-74 to win the two-day tournament. An interview of Brice appeared on KOMU-TV in Columbia. He was also interviewed by the Columbia Daily Tribune newspaper.

Brice has been a member of the State Champion boy’s golf team for the past three years.
