Five injured in two separate accidents over weekend
Two women were injured in an accident at campground #2 at Lake Viking at about 1:35 p.m. on Aug. 4, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
Tiffany Hosmann, 27, Kansas City, was southbound in a pickup on a private drive attempting to tow a golf cart up a hill. The cart disconnected. Mrs. Hosmann and a passenger, Wendy Hamacher, 25, (no address recorded) exited the vehicle. The pickup apparently slipped out of gear and began to travel backwards. The women were struck by the open doors. Mrs. Hosmann fell to the ground and the pickup ran over her. The vehicle continued backwards over a tent in a wooded area.
Tiffany Hosmann received moderate injuries and Wendy Hamacher, whose address was listed as unknown, received minor injuries. They were taken by Daviess County Ambulance to Cameron Community Hospital.
The 1992 Chevrolet Pickup received minor damage and was removed by the owner.
The accident was investigated by Cpl. R.A. Williams and the Daviess County Sheriff’s Department.
No summons was issued.
Three people were injured in a one vehicle accident on I-35 six miles north of Winston, according to a report by the Missouri Highway Patrol.
The accident occurred at about 9:55 p.m. on Aug. 5. Thuy Do, 18, Ankeny, Iowa, was northbound on I-35 when the vehicle he was driving struck a piece of tire in the roadway. Mr. Do lost control and spun into the median. The vehicle overturned twice coming to rest on its tires.
Mr. Do received moderate injuries. The passengers, Dung Phan, 18, and Hong Minh, 16, both of Des Moines, Iowa, received moderate injuries. All three were taken to Cameron Community Hospital.
The accident was investigated by Tpr. Paul Kimball, assisted by the Daviess County Sheriff’s Office and Daviess County Ambulance.
No summons was issued.
